This past week I started a discipleship class called The Apprentice. I really think it’s going to be excellent. It is 30 weeks long and we’ll spend each week memorizing Scripture (one a week from a passage), reading a chapter about a spiritual disciple of sorts, practicing the discipline, and gathering to discuss what we’ve learned and experienced.

This week I’ve done the work, but have struggled with the question in the reading where Jesus asks, “What are you seeking?”  As I attempt to be honest, I catch myself being more concerned with making a difference for Christ than to simply living the “good and beautiful life” with Christ.  This is one of the reasons why I’m thinking this study will be of great benefit to me.
