When someone asks us what we’ve seen God do in our lives, how far back do we have to go?  Do we even this of this?

In the passage I read today (Jeremiah 23) I kept being drawn back to verses 7-8.  They read, 7“In that day,” says the Lord, “when people are taking an oath, they will no longer say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who rescued the people of Israel from the land of Egypt.’ 8Instead, they will say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the people of Israel back to their own land from the land of the north and from all the countries to which he had exiled them.’ Then they will live in their own land.”  Here God was telling the people that they have a more current story to share.

What does this mean?  Well, it means that God is still working in their lives.  And when you relate this to today hopefully we realize that our faith isn’t a “one-and-done” type of faith.   God continues to work and we ought to be realizing what God is doing and then sharing that with others.  What do you think?

Lord, please open our eyes to what You are doing and may we keep our stories about You current and fresh.  Amen.
